The Detoxx Diet

The Detox diet was developed for clinical use for patients with neurotoxic illness as well as those with neurodegenerative health problems.

The ‘No Mores’ on the Detoxx Diet

The following must be removed from the diet
  • No grains (wheat, rice, barley, millet, rye, oat, corn)
  • No pasta, bread, crackers, cookies, muffins, cereal
  • No starchy vegetables (potato, sweet potato, carrot, parsnip, beet, radish, rutabaga, peas, corn)
  • No fruit, no fruit juice
  • No beans/legumes (occasional use acceptable)
  • No glucose, dextrose, sucrose, corn syrup, sugar, honey, maltodextrin
  • No fast foods, no soft drinks, no fruit juice or sweetened yogurt
  • No diet drinks, aspartame, sorbitol, mannitol, maltitol or sucralose
  • No hydrogenated vegetable oil, margarine, processed oils
  • No canola oil, peanuts, peanut oil, commercial mayo or dressing
Foods Permitted on the Detoxx Diet(Use Organic foods when possible)
  • Protein at each meal –meat, poultry, eggs, fish, (Alaskan salmon, sardines)
  • Raw, organic seeds, nuts
  • Organic 4:1 omega 6 /omega 3 rich oils / 2-6 Tablespoons (E-Lyte)
  • Free range, organic eggs, 4 daily
  • Organic butter, cream, homemade kefir with lactic acid bacteria
  • Oils (cold pressed only)
    • Sunflower or Safflower Oil (Flora, Rapunzel, Body Bio)
    • Grape Seed Oil Mayonnaise (Follow Your Heart Veganaise)
    • Walnut, rice bran oil
    • Oils for cooking at high temperatures
    • Butter-grass fed and /or organic
    • Olive Oil-extra virgin
    • Palm oil
    • Coconut Butter (Omega Nutrition)
  • Homemade Salad Dressing or Whole Foods Fresh Organic Dressings
  • Soft organic cheeses-cottage, ricotta, imported goat feta, fresh mozzarella
  • Vegetables-cucumber, chives, spinach, chard mache, kale, cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, green chiles, celery, onion, parsley, leeks, zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, snow peas, bok choy, shitake mushrooms, avocado, peppers, brussel sprouts, eggplant, green beans, (tomato in moderation)
  • Green leafy vegetables every day
  • Salads-greens, sprouts, cucumber, peppers, celery, parsley, cilantro, avocado, homemade dressing of pure oils, Japanese Plum Vinegar, full fat yogurt cream or sour cream. Tomato in moderation.
  • Fresh herbs/ spices, natural flavoring to flavor foods
  • Decaf coffee, hot or iced decaf tea, fresh lemon/ lime with water + Stevia liquid or powdered stevia to sweeten drinks (and food), Stevia drink mix ( www.stevitastevia.com) half and half of cream in decaf coffee or tea
  • Occasional use of berries/ fresh whipped cream sweetened with stevia
