American Heart Association issues new guidelines for preventing coronary heart disease in women – “Patient Care: Primary Topics in Endocrinology & Cardiology” December 2007

In March 2004, the American Heart Association (AHA) updated its guidelines for the prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in women to include more risk factors, including sub-clinical vascular disease (such as coronary calcification), poor exercise capacity, and metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetes).
