According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 90% of Americans have been exposed to the virus that causes oral herpes and roughly 25% have been exposed to the genital herpes virus. It is believed that nearly 45 million people over the age of 12 are living with genital herpes in the US today. And the results of a national household survey found that only 10% of people living with the virus know that they have been infected. (more)
